FromSoftware’s Hidetaka Miyazaki has confirmed that Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree will be the game’s one and only piece of DLC. In an interview with Chinese publication Zhihu, the FromSoftware head confirmed the number of Elden Ring DLCs and provided some additional context to that decision within his interview answers. Here are two quotes from the interview, translated via Google Translate and adjusted for readability:
“It is the first and last DLC. We have no plans to add more content to Elden Ring.”
“Elden Ring emphasizes the exploration and adventure of the big world. In order to provide such an experience, a vast and huge [DLC] is inevitably needed. Therefore, instead of splitting it into several parts, it is better to simply make one big [piece].”

Elden Ring features the action systems that FromSoftware has proven effective through their Dark Souls series, but the team has also focused on building a narrative with this title. With the help of Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin, the game features a fantasy story where players control the fate of this world.
Elden Ring is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. If you missed it, check out our review.
