ESDigital Games has announced that the Dark Pigeon Games-developed metroidvania AWAKEN – Astral Blade will be released on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on October 22, 2024. This is the third part of the Sony China Hero Project.
This side-scrolling action title follows protagonist Tania, a bionic clone from the OS-CR100 series created by De. Hervues. She’s searching for missing researchers, but the journey truly begins when she finds secrets within some ruins, the remains of Jacha City, causing her to learn about her origins. Further, Karpas energy is causing the animals of the Horace Islands she’s on to mutate into dangerous creatures.
The gameplay features various combos, dodging, and running at enemies to slow down the surrounding area and gain temporary immunity. Aether is a collectible resource that improves combat skills, strength, and earning skills, among other techniques.
The exploration is designed not to waste your time, and the difficulty level can be decreased. Additionally, the player will make decisions in the narrative, leading to different routes and endings.
The physical PlayStation 5 version of AWAKEN – Astral Blade by Meridiem, Tania’s Edition, will provide a “specially designed slip case, a printed Lore Book revealing more about Tania’s history and the mysterious Jacha City, and the digital soundtrack and a sticker featuring the Mech Mutant Prototype,” as well as access to post-release content DLC and additional outfits.
