Starfield has been a continually growing monumental hit for Bethesda, hitting all-time player number records and reviewing well critically. As for the former, the game has recently surpassed an over 300,00 player peak on Steam that’s still going up. As of the time of this writing, its player peak is at 313,960, which will likely be surpassed later today at this rate.
To give a frame of perspective, Skyrim’s player peak on Steam, achieved roughly 12 years ago, is 287,411. Of course, PC gaming wasn’t quite as prominent over a decade ago, but it doesn’t diminish the sheer scale of Starfield’s player numbers.
It’s also worth emphasizing that this number is for Steam alone. Earlier this week, Xbox CEO Phil Spencer announced that the game achieved over six million players, so Game Pass has undoubtedly played a significant part in this title’s growth.
