Despite how many times I feel like I’ve written about the end of it, the Cyberpunk 2077 universe marches on, as Netflix’s “Geeked Week” event dropped a very short teaser trailer for another tie-in project, likely another anime.
Netflix and Studio Trigger partnered to release Cyberpunk: Edgerunners in September 2022, an anime project that was received extremely well by critics and fans alike, holding a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. It told an original story set in CD Projekt Red’s version of the Cyberpunk universe, shared with the 2077 game and the upcoming untitled project codenamed Project Orion.
This new teaser trailer, which you can see below, was really just a brief sizzle indicating that a new project was coming, and given that the last anime took over two years from announcement to release (these projects take a long time to coordinate), we probably are far out from any kind of actual release, but we’ll be keeping our eyes out.
In other Cyberpunk news, developers recently released Patch 2.13 for Cyberpunk 2077 on PC only. The patch does not include any new content, but does add support for AMD FSR3 Frame Generation, and the usual “stability and visual fixes”.
We reviewed Phantom Liberty, the game’s massive expansion, last year, and I’ve also written up a list of things I do and do not want to see in Project Orion that would make it an overall better experience than the first game.
We’ll keep you updated!
