Metric Empire announced that their first title as a studio will be a roguelite first-person shooter called Battle Shapers. The Developer confirmed the game will release on Early Access for PC later in 2023.
The developer is made up of Ubisoft directors Nicholas Routhier and Pier-Luc Papineau, who have worked on Prince of Persia, Assassin’s Creed, and Far Cr. Battle Shapers is a first-person roguelite where players will fight against an army of corrupt robots and a few bosses.
During gameplay, players are armed with a weapon to take down enemies, which allows access to new skills and abilities. Although the gameplay is challenging, unlocked weapons, abilities, and talents can be permanently increased, which increases the length you can survive in a run. Each tower contains hidden upgrades and weapons, so exploring them is key.
Each boss, known as Overlords, have a special power that can be acquired after they are defeated. These upgrades change the appearance of the player as well as the gameplay mechanics. However, with each defeated boss, the difficulty increases.
We’ll keep you updated on the Early Access timing when more details are available. You can check out the Steam page for more information.
