Inti Creates has announced that the Steam demo for its upcoming roguelite card-battling RPG Card-en-Ciel is now available.
The demo will feature plenty of early content, with a tutorial dungeon and two story dungeons. Plus, one’s saved data will carry over to the full release.
Additionally, a new trailer has been released for the fictional in-game world of “President Ex Machina.”
Previously, the main theme song and story trailer were collectively revealed.
Combat throughout Card-en-Ciel occurs on 3×6 grids, with players able to use their cards for attacks, movement, or special skills. Achieving victory in bouts will grant new useable cards for battle. Moreover, Card-en-Ciel has a full storyline with full English and Japanese voice options. Impressively, all character cards will be voiced in both languages, with over 300 cards to anticipate.
Additionally, there will be over ten different dungeons and Muse Cards, which activate potential abilities with their songs mid-combat. Of these, at least 50 vocal tracks will be featured. Using these Muse song abilities will grant access to hidden card “glitches” and the opportunity to redirect enemy attacks toward foes, resulting in combos.
The narrative has Neon investigating why characters from various games are invading other virtual game worlds, with multiple endings based on the player’s choices. It’s also worth mentioning that the number of players is listed as “1-2,” but co-op has not yet been mentioned.
Card-en-Ciel will be released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on October 24, 2024.
