D4 Enterprise has announced a Switch port of the 1985 Nihon Falcom PC-88 action RPG Xanadu Scenario II for August 29, 2024. This eShop release will cost $6.49
This sequel to the original Xanadu is described as a side-view action RPG where players set out on a quest to defeat the King Dragon, Galsis, who has been resurrected.
The combat of Xanadu Scenario II features real-time weapon attacks through physical contact and magic that is guided manually. Additionally, the dual experience points system for the warriors and mages has been kept, encouraging players to develop unique character traits based on which experience avenue they focus on; efficacy is enhanced across repeated usages.
New features include traps, such as icicles and poison that doesn’t decrease karma upon interaction, as well as maps requiring more intricate involvement. These factors help give Xanadu Scenario II the reputation of being challenging for some players, or at least more difficult than the original in select ways.
