The following is a guide I wrote for The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak. However, it’s largely unnecessary since you can obtain almost everything naturally by exploring every area.
This guide is more akin to a series of notes I took while playing. The key focus areas are chests, food items, LGC values, and quests. Connect events and movies aren’t covered since you just need to remember to do them.
Character notes, books (sans the newspaper), and battle notes are absent, making completion much more lenient. The most notable facet of this guide is the choices that impact SP gain and LGC alignment value.
I should also note that I missed logging one or two chests at some point, but you don’t need them all for the PlayStation trophy/ Steam achievement. There is an EX achievement for all chests, though. Moreover, you can easily use the Orbment system to unlock the equivalent of Detection Quartz to track treasure chests on the map.

Head to Stanley’s Factory in Old Town. Select “The Wallet’s Engraved Message” and “Fifty Percent Discount” to receive a bonus 2 SP alongside 1,500 mira. +1 Gray and +1 Law values are also obtained.
Required Quest – Subway Service Path Extermination – Obtained from Zin during the story
Head back to the Subway Service Path in Riverside. Explore from the midpoint onward; new chests are available.
- Chest #3 has a Reviving Balm.
- Chest #4 has 200 of each Sepith type.
- Chest #5 has 100 Sepith Mass.
- Chest #6 has an Action 2 Quartz.
- Chest #7 has a Red Pedulum.
Defeating the boss and completing the quest gives +1 Gray and +1 Law, and 1,000 mira.
When in Riverside next for the story, the newly opened Shino’s Bar stand has Shino’s Red, Ginger Ale, and Spicy Salami food items.
For the next story choice, select “The Northern HWY Through Ored or Remiferia” for 2 SP.

Speak to Giovanna near Martha’s Stall, and then speak to Motona. Afterward, talk to Mayor Wen and take Van’s advice by not reporting back yet.
Head to the quest marker behind the windmill to gather horseradish. Report back to Giovanna now, and when prompted with choices, select “Buck the Trend” and “Go With the Shrimp” to get 2 SP, 1,000 mira, and +1 Law.
Required Quest – The Stolen Bicycle – When first leaving Creil Village
Kyle gives this quest automatically.
Creil Outskirts Field:

Speak to Kent and Annie, eventually resulting in a chase around town with quest markers, then outside in the Hillside area.
This sequence of cutscenes will result in you getting the Black Cat Ears and Black Cat Tail attachments, as well as +1 Law.

Speak to Jess on the second floor of the Saiunkaku Eastern Restaurant in the Tyrell District. Head to the depths of the Underground Remains in Station Street and examine the nearby wall.
Next, fast-travel to the midpoint of the Subway Service Station in Riverside. Examine the poster on the wall, then speak to Gordon up top at the taco stand. When presented with a choice, select “Horizon.”
Go to the building up north and then fast-travel back to the Tyrell District to report to Jess. You get +1 Gray, +1 Chaos, 2,500 mira, and 2 SP.
Semi-Required Quest – Missing Sister– After Examining the Job Board in Riverside
Speak to Jonas outside Beromitti’s and then head to the Tyrell District. Broach the topic to Shakar, then Lucia at the McMillan Café.
Travel to Station Street next, then broach the topic to Ilhan on the second floor of the Orbal Café Iota. Wait for Jessica on the couch nearby for two eventual choices.
“Hand Him to the Police” will give +1 Gray and +2 Law
“Blackmail Him” will give + 1 Gray, + Law, and +1 Chaos.
2,500 mira is earned regardless.
Required Quest – Seiden Waterworks Extermination – After Getting a Call from Rene in the Tyrell District

Speak to Shino in Riverside, then broach the newly acquired topic to the ticket clerk at the concert hall nearby. Broach the topic again to Receptionist Polecca at the Cinema in Tyrell District, and then walk to the subway.
Selecting “Talk Him Out of It” will give +2 Law and +1 Chaos, while choosing “Pretend to Abandon Him” will give +1 Law, +1 Gray, and +1 Chaos. 2,500 mira is earned regardless.
On the following day for story, choose “Maintain Speed” and “Wait for the Right Moment” for two bonus SP.

Selecting “Persuade Them” will result in +1 Law and +2 Gray, while choosing “Fight” will result in an optional battle that gives +1 Law, +1 Gray, and +1 Chaos.

Optional Quest – Safeguarding Eroded Cave Tour – After examining all the required spots in the Eastern Quarter
Take the boat at the port of the Eastern Quarter and enter the Eroded Cave.

Optional Quest – Martial Arts Guidance – After examining the 4SPG board in the Uptown District
Speak to Wan at the park in the area, then Bracer Xiaolin at the Bracer Guild. Once back at the park and committing the forms to memory, choose the following options:
- “Thrust Both Palms”
- “Swing Right Arm Upward”
- “Strike With Elbow”
- “Extend Left Leg”
- “Palm Heel to Hand Slice”
+ 1 Law, 2 bonus SP, and 2,000 mira are earned.
Required Quest – Cheating Duo Investigation– Story Progression
Follow the markers around the town as Van during the night, with Aaron eventually joining in tow. Various stalls, the clinic, Gambit, and both districts are all included in these visits.
When Aaron has to choose, select “Police Officer” for a bonus SP.
When gambling, select “Fold” and “Discard the Jack” for a bonus SP.
After the battle, you have three choices:
- “The Guild” gives +2 Law, +1 Gray, and +1 Chaos
- “The Police” gives +2 Gray and +1 Chaos
- “Heiyue” gives +1 Gray and +2 Chaos

Speak to Amy in the area then broach the acquired topic to Sylvie on the second floor of the Weston Department Store on Station Street.
Then do the same to Eddy in the Newberry General Store in Old Town. Afterward, broach the same topic to Simon at the basketball court in the Seiden District.
When reporting back to Amy, you get two choices.
“Tell the Truth” gives +2 Law and +1 Gray
“Keep the Letter and Lie” gives +2 Gray and +1 Law

Semi-Required Quest – Testing a Mystery-Solving Game – Examine the 4SPG board in Seiden District
Speak to Manager Maura in the Erland Boutique nearby, then walk to the entrance of the Riverside Subway. Lastly, speak to Guide Hendrick in the Espirit Cinema in the Tyrell District, and finish it all off by speaking to Ilhan on the second floor of the Orbal Café Iota on Station Street.
3,500 mira and +1 Law is earned.

When it becomes evening, approach the lone girl in Riverside, and progress throughout the Subway Service Path until you beat the boss.

“Leave Her With the Temple” will give +2 Law and +1 Gray.
“Have Manager Take Her In” will give +1 Law and +2 Gray

When you’re at the hotel for story, select “The Amount of Commotion” for bonus 2 SP.

Speak to Marcello and then the cops in the area. Then, speak to the officer in the Cultural District.
Select “Officer Camilo” when given the choice for bonus SP.
You’ll soon have two alignment choices.

- “Capture the Imposter” will give +1 Law and +2 Chaos

When it’s nighttime, trigger a side event in the Bracer Guild, then broach the newly acquired topic to the tourist in the area, and then again to Harold in the Moulin Casino in the Entertainment District.
Lastly, broach the topic to Nate in the area, and walk to the parking lot in the same district.
You get 3,500 mira and +1 Gray and +1 Chaos.
- Moulin Bar Counter in the Moulin Casino in the Entertainment District has Salty Shot.
- Soul Chef Parfait recipe book is gotten from achieving C+ rank.
Next day:
- Vending Machine in Specialty Store Azraw in the Entertainment District has a Dr. Salt.
Semi-Required Quest – Extra Ensemble Enlistment – Examine the 4SPG in the Entertainment District
Speak to Director Gotti in Vegas Films. Then, talk to Cervi nearby, Juliana in the night club, and Officer Vernier near the beginning of the area. This will initiate another conversation with Daswani before you need to speak to her again. Report to Gotti to get 3,000 mira, 2 SP, and +1 Law.
Semi-Required Quest – Underground Water Archeological Investigation – Examine the 4SPG in the Cultural District
Speak to Archaeologist Inigo at the waterway.
Tharbad Underground Waterway (Continuing treasure chest count from the previous visit)

Travel to the Sandsea next and go to the far south side for the red cacti. Report back to Bermotti for 3,000 mira and +1 Gray.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak II will be released in the West in early 2025 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG.
