Nexon’s free-to-play looter-shooter The First Descendant is set to expand its horizons with the second update to Season 1: Invasion, launching on October 10. Meet Ultimate Freyna
Joining the roster is Ultimate Freyna, a Descendant equipped with exclusive modules that enhance her toxic capabilities:
- Toxic Mixture: This module triggers Necrosis instead of Room 0 Trauma, increasing Freyna’s firearm attack as enemies accumulate Necrosis stacks. Upon reaching maximum stacks, her firearm critical hit rate also gets a boost.
- Venom Injection: By consuming resources, Freyna can recover her shield and amplify her skill power modifier. This module inflicts Corrosion on enemies, reducing their toxin resistance and making them more susceptible to her attacks.
Freyna’s exclusive story content delves into her psyche, exploring the guilt she harbors after failing to save her loved ones and comrades.
Hailey’s New Modules
Hailey isn’t left out in this update, receiving two new modification modules:
- Supercooled Kuiper Round: This alters her unique weapon by reducing firearm attack and fire rate but significantly increasing weak point damage. The bonus decreases with continuous firing but resets upon successful weak point hits.
- Cryogenic Cluster Shot: Changes the Cryo effect to Cryogenic. Attacking enemies afflicted with Cryogenic deals additional area-of-effect damage, making it ideal for clearing groups of common foes.
Face the Death Stalker
The new Void Intercept Boss, Death Stalker, awaits players in the darkness of the Void. Touted as one of the most powerful Colossi encountered, players must uncover its mysteries to protect Albion from impending threats.
Introducing the Frost Watcher
The Frost Watcher is the latest ultimate weapon added to the game. Designed with a built-in Chill Arche catalyst, it allows any Descendant to fire Cryogenic bullets that slow enemy movement. While challenging to wield, mastering this weapon grants a significant edge in combat.
400% Infiltration Operations and ETA-0 Merchant
For those seeking relentless action, the 400% Infiltration Operations offer battles against increased numbers of monsters. These operations reward players with exclusive currency, which can be traded with ETA-0, a mysterious merchant appearing from Friday to Sunday. Items available include Descendant and weapon blueprints, materials, inventory expansions, paints, and more. Note that availability may vary based on time zones.
Halloween Arrives in Albion
With Halloween on the horizon, Albion is getting a festive makeover complete with spooky decorations. Players can also purchase special skins, cosmetics, and hair dyes from the shop to embrace the Halloween spirit.
Participate in Freyna’s Encrypted Vault Shop Event
An ongoing player event, “Freyna’s Encrypted Vault Shop,” is now live on the official website. By completing in-game missions and collecting points, players can unlock encrypted vaults filled with various rewards.
