Critical Reflex announced that the 2Awesome Studio-developed cyberpunk metroidvania Altered Alma will receive a free DLC titled “Neon & Miracle,” After reaching a Kickstarter Goal, the DLC will expand the game’s universe in a surprising crossover with The Game Kitchen’s Blasphemous 2.
This announcement arrives as a thank-you to backers who propelled the game’s Kickstarter campaign past the €210,000 mark, unlocking several stretch goals—including this unexpected collaboration.
During the Neon & Miracle event, players will dive into a fusion of two distinct worlds. The story unfolds as Jackelyne, the protagonist of Altered Alma, experiments with a volatile device known as the Crucible. Things go south quickly, tearing open a portal to the grim realm of Cvstodia from Blasphemous. Amid the dimensional chaos, The Penitent One finds himself stranded in Neo Barcelona.
Altered Alma has players battle the criminal lords of Neo-Barcelona by achieving upgrades and discovering new explorable routes with a customizable base and recruitable party members. The protagonist, Jack, is a young mercenary, who works for some rather dangerous individuals, and the choices players make will influence Jack’s playstyle and abilities. Further, Jack will reconnect with old friends and even find romance depending on the interactions.
We’ll keep you updated on the development of Altered Alma.
