Critical Reflex has launched a new gameplay trailer for the Luxorix Games-developed tactical rogue-like shooter Deadlock Station, which will be released on PC via Steam. While no release date was provided, the developer is participating in Steam’s PixElated Adventures event, where they shared a free demo that is available to give players a preview of the chaotic gameplay that awaits.
The demo features four playable characters: a heavily armed Executioner, a far-reaching Gunner, a frail but exceptionally strong Raider, and an impenetrable Legionary. During the demo, players can take on various quests, explore the updated systems, upgrade their stats, and fight a powerful boss. It’s basically for the first act of the game and is said to be highly replayable.
Deadlock Station immerses players in strategic, automated battles where positioning and pre-battle setups are crucial to victory. The game emphasizes the importance of characters’ abilities and player orders in determining battle outcomes. Players must construct spike walls, establish choke points in city ruins, bait enemies into traps, and push them onto hazards or land mines to turn the battlefield to their advantage. Every encounter becomes a tactical puzzle where outsmarting the opponent is key to survival.
In Deadlock Station, players command a diverse squad, each character equipped with unique abilities and battle stances. Enhancements such as Energy Shields and Time Weapons provide additional tactical depth. Players must defend against the deadly Ravagers, outsmart the Renegades, and hunt dangerous aliens for loot and glory. The game’s dynamic enemies, varying terrains, and different battle objectives require constant adaptation. Beyond battles, developing the base unlocks new items, characters, and factions, from the ruthless Order to the all-knowing PFS, ensuring that no two expeditions are ever the same and offering limitless possibilities for experimentation and synergy creation.
We’ll keep you updated on the development and release of Deadlock Station.
