NEXON and Neople have unveiled a new cinematic and gameplay video for its upcoming action RPG The First Berserker: Khazan ahead of its early 2025 release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
This developer video details the combat mechanics, with the core principle being “see and respond.” The game is designed to provide clear feedback regarding each player decision. Combat moments are divided into two phases: the monster’s attack turn and Khazan’s attack turn.
The Brink Guard and Brink Dodge techniques can be utilized with precise timing, though there is no single correct way to respond to enemies. Preemptive strikes are powerful ways to get a leg up on enemies, but the stamina of both Khazan and the foe must be consciously monitored.
Stamina depletion results in exhaustion, where the affected parties receive more significantly inflicted damage. Ultimately, careful stamina consideration and targeting enemy weak points during their exhausted durations is recommended for success.
Khazan can wield multiple weapon types, each with a different gameplay style. The spear has lower attack power at the benefit of longer range, making it beneficial for stamina-centric strategies. On the other hand, the greatsword can charge actions, boasting slow yet powerful attacks; it also excels in guarding and counterattacks.

The First Berserker: Khazan is a new venture from the Dungeon&Fighter IP, which has been in existence for two decades. The story focuses on Khazan and Ozma, heroes who saved the Pell Los Empire from Hismar, the Berserk Dragon, and the Dragon Legion. However, General Khazan is falsely accused of treason and becomes an outcast condemned to exile and torture.
Players must survive imperial forces, harsh environments, and conspiracies rooted in false accusations. As Khazan was once a hero in Arad’s history, players will gradually recall his forgotten battle skills. This “hardcore action role-playing game” will feature a hack-and-slash style alongside various equipment and perks encouraging individualized customization. Plus, character abilities will be upgradeable, and different types of weapons and armor abilities can be combined.
