Wuthering Waves | Mobile, PC | May 22, 2024
Developed by Kuro Game, the developers behind Punishing Gray Raven, Wuthering Waves is the next free-to-play open-world action RPG and is finally set to release in late May. As a story-rich open-world game featuring a high degree of freedom, we are looking forward to seeing how Wuthering Waves differs from other games in the genre. At the surface, the game’s emphasis and attention in its combat looks to set itself apart from the others, and the endgame roguelike mode is also something we are looking forward to experiencing when the time comes. While these types of games are generally easily comparable, Wuthering Waves has the potential to be something different.
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door | NS | May 23, 2024
Arguably the best title in the Paper Mario franchise, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is finally making its return after almost 20 years since its original release. The remake features new graphics, animations, and music, though it is noted to run at 30 frames per second rather than the original’s 60. Despite this, the ability to have Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door natively on a modern console is too good to pass up. Who knows? If this title sells well, we can only hope that Nintendo takes note of the support put into this formula of the Paper Mario franchise.
And that wraps up our list of best games releasing in May 2024. Please tell us what you are looking forward to from this list or what we might have missed!
