Nightdive Studios and Ziggurat Interactive announced the HD remaster of the 3DO boomer shooter Killing Time: Resurrected will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on October 17, 2024. While the game has gone down in history as the “bastard child of Doom and The 7th Guest,” this release allows new generations to live through the horror and laughter this title provides, a novelty for the Halloween season and a title that might be fun to pull out during this spooky time.
Killing Time: Resurrected brings a remastered version of the cult-classic 1990s first-person shooter to modern platforms. Set in the eerie 1930s Conway Estate, players take on the role of a student trapped in a mansion cursed by an occult ritual gone awry. As you unravel the mysteries behind heiress Tess Conway’s failed immortality ritual, you’ll face a host of supernatural threats while piecing together the events leading to the disappearance of her high-society guests.
The remastered version, Killing Time: Resurrected, features a significant upgrade in visuals and performance, including 4K resolution, smoother controls, and expanded gameplay options. Players can toggle between the original 3DO and PC artwork, enjoy upscaled textures, and explore the estate in full 360-degree view. Killing Time: Resurrected is a blend of classic corridor mayhem and paranormal puzzle-solving. Modern players can finally discover this…sophisticated shooter and explore previously cut content, including the pool house and shipwreck areas, in a haunted 1930s mansion setting.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on future releases from this publisher.
Don’t sleep on this one! No joke, the game is seriously good. People only didn’t ask for it, because it was stuck on an obscure console (the PC version was not the same game, and was not as good). But that doesn’t mean it wasn’t an excellent game.
