Reverting Castles have launched their Kickstarter campaign for their 2D action sidescroller Demon Crush. The development team is comprised of developers from Epic Games, Ubisoft, Volition, and WayForward, and they’re asking for $40,000 to fund their project.
To show how serious they are about completing the development of this project, the team released a free demo. The demo features a special stage: Kenzo’s Fury. This one-level demo showcases the combat and platforming action they hope to deliver in the full game.
It appears that due to an error, the demo is only available upon request from the developer or by becoming a backer. The team is in contact with Valve now to launch demo on Steam.
Demon Crush puts players into the role of Kenzo Yagimoto, a skilled warrior defending his village, Gochima, from a demonic invasion. As a 2D sidescrolling action-platformer, Demon Crush offers fast-paced, combo-based combat that blends retro visuals and mechanics with modern, fluid gameplay. Players will master the weapon techniques of the Yagimoto clan to defeat Nezumo, a warlord wielding ancient powers, and eventually face off against the demon responsible for the chaos.
Throughout the game, players can control multiple characters, each bringing their own unique combat styles and weapons to the fight. Wall-jumping, grappling hooks, air combos, and epic duels against inhuman bosses keep the adrenaline high as you traverse the dangerous, beautifully crafted fantasy world inspired by Japanese folklore. Demon Crush combines nostalgic side-scrolling mechanics with fresh, fast-paced action, delivering challenging battles and death-defying platforming in an exciting, demon-infested landscape.
We’ll keep you updated on the development of Demon Crush.
