Door 407 has launched their medieval fantasy RTS Diplomacy is Not an Option on PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, GOG, and Humble. The game has been in Early Access for over two years now, and has been positively reviewed by the community who assisted with the development through feedback.
Diplomacy is Not an Option places players in the role of a minor lord in a medieval fantasy world, where building, defending, and managing resources are essential to survival. With over 25,000 enemies swarming at your gates, you’re forced to fight off waves of opposition, using everything from archers and knights to siege weapons and magic. Unlike many typical RTS games, this one adds an element of humor to its grim scenarios as you navigate through rebellions, starvation, and even zombies while dealing with a lazy, incompetent king who heaps the burden of leadership onto you.
The game emphasizes physics-based combat where each arrow, catapult stone, and enemy soldier is fully simulated, creating a battlefield where tactics truly matter. You’ll have to balance expanding your economy, managing resources like food, wood, and iron, while keeping your people alive and happy. With features like active pause and endless modes, Diplomacy is Not an Option lets players develop their strategies, whether that’s focusing on walls and defense early on or pushing for rapid expansion despite the risks. Plus, the dark arts provide an extra edge as you summon devastating magical forces to rain destruction on your enemies.
Diplomacy is Not an Option is available now.
