Acquire revealed they will self-publish their card-based SRPG roguelike C.A.R.D.S. RPG: The Misty Battlefield, in development for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam for a 2024 release.
The publisher released a new trailer to highlight the gameplay and characters. Further, players can get a preview of the deck customization, battlefield, and battle system. I do feel like the character designs resemble some of the developer’s other games, including Octopath Traveler.

In C.A.R.D.S. RPG: The Misty Battlefield, a jet-black dragon’s sudden arrival wreaks havoc on the kingdom, significantly altering the dynamics of the ongoing 100 Years’ War between 17 nations. A formidable chimera, born from a dragon and a human spirit, emerges as a result of an alliance between Fahftania and the powerful Hellmuth Brigade, becoming an unstoppable force. Seth Arden, a scout, reveals Fahftania’s inhumane experiments, leading Captain Vel Dina and the Clausewitz Battalion on a mission to halt these dark practices. However, they soon discover that Fahftania is under the control of the Hellmuth Brigade.
The game introduces a novel blend of gameplay elements, combining roguelike-style deckbuilding with SRPG mechanics, offering players a unique gaming experience. With a diverse selection of over 50 cards, players must clear the mist on the map to unveil concealed enemies, facilities, and equipment, allowing for strategic planning in battles. The battle system smoothly integrates SRPG-style turn-based combat with card-based mechanics, providing a distinctive tactical gaming experience.
