A new trailer for Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes was released, which gives players a look at Shez, a mercenary and the newest Fire Emblem protagonist.
According to Serenes Forest’s translation, Shez, who can be male or female, is described as a sword-wielder who was defeated by Byleth and Jeralt’s mercenaries. While training to seek revenge, Shez meets the Academy students. You can see renders of Shez as a female and male below:
Interestingly, it seems as though Byleth, the player character of Fire Emblem: Three Houses, is some form of legendary antagonist in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, known as the Ashen Demon. Below, you can see screenshots (courtesy of Famitsu) from the trailer, including one where you pick the gender of Byleth, despite seemingly not playing as them.
Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is a Musou-style adventure set in the same universe as Fire Emblem: Three Houses. During gameplay, players can choose a character and take on the one-versus-one-thousand gameplay that Musou-style games are known for. Further, there seems to be a layer of strategy available to players. This game’s exact timeline connection to the original Three Houses is currently unknown.
