Nintendo has announced that its free-to-play mobile game Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp will end service on November 29, 2024. The title began service on November 21, 2017, so it lasted for roughly seven years.
The developer confirmed that they are developing a paid version of the app that will allow users to transfer their saved data. It is planned to be released during the same period as the free version’s end of service. This transfer will require Nintendo Account linking.
The paid version of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp will feature the same basic gameplay and controls as the free version, though it will also allow players to use the included features with a one-time purchase. There will be no in-app purchases or subscription services like Pocket Camp Club. Additionally, Leaf Tickets will not be useable, and they won’t be transferable to the new app.
New information about this paid version of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, notably the pricing and release date, will be announced via server notifications around October 2024.
Nintendo has separately detailed details surrounding the Pocket Camp Club subscription service, which will also end. On October 28, 2024, automatic renewal for each plan will cease. Those still subscribed at that time will receive a badge in their in-game mailbox, enabling continued usage of Pocket Camp Club benefits and features until the service ends.
