Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket, also known as Pokemon TCG Pocket, has received a new trailer and release date of October 30, 2024. Originally announced earlier this year, Pokemon TCG Pocket brings a new iteration of the classic trading card game to mobile devices. The game’s focus is on Pokemon card collection, allowing players to open two booster packs per day at no cost. These cards will also include new cards that are exclusive to the game. Perhaps more interestingly, the game will also feature immersive cards with a 3D feel that allows players to be more involved with a card’s art than ever before. The game’s collection feature also includes binders and display boards to showcase your cards. Additionally, casual battles will be available either solo or with friends.
As the Pokemon Trading Card Game and card collecting in general have grown in recent years, it is exciting to see a new method of entry into the hobby for those who are curious and observing from the outside. It has been almost 30 years since the Trading Card Game debuted, and that history can serve as a pretty massive barrier to entry. That said, Pokemon TCG Pocket brings about a new, relatively level playing field for all to enjoy.
