In the same breadth as announcing the release date for Fate/Stay Night Remastered in english, TYPE-Moon and Aniplex have announced that a remaster of the game’s sequel, Fate/Hollow Ataraxia has been announced to also hit all of our shores. The title will, like Fate/Stay Night Remastered be available on Nintendo Switch and Steam.
Fate/Stay Night is a classic visual novel developed by Type-Moon and released exclusively in Japan in 2004. Since then, the game received various ports and enhanced editions over the years.
The sequel, Fate/Hollow Ataraxia was a Japanese exclusive release in 2005.
Since its inception, the series has spanned multiple adaptions to other media, sequels, and popular games. The latest of which was Fate/Samurai Remnant, a partnership between Type-Moon, Aniplex, and Koei Tecmo.
Fate Hollow/Ataraxia is set almost a year after the events of the original game. However, instead of being a sequel to one specific story from Fate/Stay Night it is instead a sequel to all of them. You follow Shirou Emiya, the protagonist of the original game, enjoying an idyllic life with the cast of Stay Night, alongside the new character Bazzet Fraga McRitz, who had originally been supposed to take part in the previous Grail War, but has woken up with amnesia. The two will uncover and solve dark mysteries and put to rest a terrible secret.
With the remaster, this will be the first official release of Fate/Hollow Ataraxia in English. After the English editions of Witch on the Holy Night, Fate/Stay Night, and part 1 of the Tsukihime remake, this will mean the biggest releases from Type-Moon will all be available in official form for Western fans.
Yay, Nasu either came back to us, or was away for a bit too long!
