It seems Amazon Japan has released the first screenshots of the upcoming Gust-developed Arland trilogy remakes, Atelier Rorona DX, Atelier Totori DX, and Atelier Meruru DX, coming to the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
The trilogy of games, which originally released 2009 through 2011 on PlayStation 3, will make their way to current gen hardware on September 20 in Japan. With little to go off of since it was revealed just recently, the screenshots give players a preview of the updated visuals that each of these titles have received.
The Arland Trilogy was the beginning of a new adventure formula for the series, which acted as an introduction for newcomers, myself included. Each title within the trilogy features a different female protagonist who is chasing their dream of alchemy. Each of the stories intertwines with one another and the cast of characters evolve throughout the entire story.
Players will need to collect items and craft materials to create new objects which vary in quality based off of the materials used. Collecting these materials has the player traveling through a handful of areas and towns. Monsters roam around freely and each battle system features turn-based mechanics. Additionally, the player must hit certain goals within a time frame in order to progress the story.
Currently, there is no mention of a western release.
