GungHo Online Entertainment America has shared new information about the recently revealed Lunar Remastered Collection. While it was revealed during the Sony State of Play, many were wondering how long we’d have to wait for them to announce each release platform. Thankfully, we didn’t have to wait for long because the publisher confirmed the Lunar Remastered Collection will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam in Spring 2025.
The publisher also confirmed that release packages and details will be provided at a later date. In the past, the company has worked with Limited Run Games on the physical release of the Grandia Collection. We’ll have to wait and see what they have in store for this significant collection.
The Lunar Remastered Collection offers a number of updated features for both longtime fans and new players. The collection includes strategic turn-based combat in Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete, where factors like character speed, positioning, and attack reach must be considered.
Players can choose between classic and remastered modes, with the latter offering wide-screen support and high-definition animated cutscenes. Voiceovers are available in both Japanese and a newly recorded English option, enhancing battles with fully voiced attacks and incantations. Other updates include faster battle settings and additional strategy options, as well as French and German subtitle support.
The Lunar Remastered Collection revitalizes the beloved classics Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete from the PlayStation 1 era, staying true to the original charm while incorporating new enhancements and quality-of-life improvements. With its nostalgic 90s-style animated cutscenes, iconic characters, and classic turn-based combat, the collection will appeal to both long-time fans and newcomers. The romantic storytelling, memorable characters, and timeless soundtrack serve as a reminder of how Lunar helped define the JRPG genre.
